Coaching Skills (Development & Career) - 24 September 2019 13.30 - 16.30
Overview
Coaching is one of the most difficult skills. Typically, we tend to make assumptions and try to solve problems for others. The reality is that it is all about our ability to facilitate a conversation in order to support and or develop others. The session will be particularly useful for managers, those with a specific coaching role and/or those who want to generally develop their coaching skills.
The session starts by defining coaching as a principle and how it differs from training and mentoring. We then look at a framework for holding the conversation (GROW). From there consider some of the key skills before having the opportunity to put it into practise. Coaching is a key tool for career development, and we will be linking this in through the session.
The style of the workshop will be interactive and practical with the focus on transferring the skills back into the workplace.
