Flooding is become increasingly common in the UK. There is growing concern from insurers about the flood risk in the UK. Thus the UK insurance regime - for flood - is in a period of flux. With more flood claims insurers are increasingly looking at ways in which flood claims can be handled and mitigated.
Who should attend?
Anyone who works in general insurance with a property element in their role. How water damage is restored is relevant to underwriters, claims handlers and brokers alike.

- outline how Flood Re works
- describe the process of insurer flood mapping
- discuss some of the options available to insurance companies dealing with flood and wet perils claims
Speaker's biography
Mike is a professional loss adjuster and has been dealing with claims most of his insurance career. Other than six years in the Middle East (when he missed the floods) he has been involved on the ground in just about every weather surge since North Wales flooded in 1991. Mike has been a loss adjuster for 28 years, he is a former Head of Property Claims for one of the national adjusting firms and is now an Associate Director of VRS Vericlaim UK Ltd. Mike is also the Immediate Past President of the Insurance Institute of Sheffield.
