    • James Jones-Tinsley, Self-Invested Pensions Technical Specialist, Barnett Waddingham

Date: Thursday 13th June 2024

Start time: 12pm

Location: Barnett Waddingham Offices, 1st Floor, Liver Building, L3 1HU.

Format: A 1 hour session (questions welcome), followed by a networking lunch.

Join us in June for our session where our speaker, James Jones-Tinsley, discusses the changes to the lifetime allowance and its' impact.

This is a wide-ranging presentation looking at the new post-LTA regime that we are now in, the changes to legislation and the frustration that arises from it, plus the uncertainty that the upcoming general election will bring to the new regime.

Learning objectives:

  • To acknowledge all that has happened since the Spring Budget of March 2023, with regards to the abolition of the Lifetime Allowance and the three new Allowances that have taken its place:
  • To evaluate the performance of the government and HMRC, with regards to providing the pensions industry with the legislation and regulations for the new ‘post-LTA’ world:
  • To take stock of where we now are, in respect of tying up the remaining ‘loose ends’ within the legislation, and the impact that this is having on providers, advisers and clients; and
  • With the General Election now taking place on 4th July, to consider what may or may not happen to the new legislation, once the new government is in place.

This event is in-person at Barnett Waddingham offices and there will be a networking session afterwards to meet and chat to fellow members.

Note - If you have any dietary or other considerations please let us know in the 'special considerations' box when completing your booking.
