Hacking - Cyber Security Seminar
FREE LUNCHTIME SEMINAR
25th April 2018
Hacking - the new "STING"
We invite all members & guests to attend a seminar which will be presented by Steve Mclaughlin from SteveMac Media a Computer Forensic and IT Security Professional.
In this session it should deliver a demonstration of the various gadgets that hackers use to internally hack companies and exploit their weaknesses from the inside. Professional hackers use seven steps, some of which terrorists use to get to know an organisation. Understanding these, training your staff on how they can be hacked, is the best way to defend yourself.
1. Information discovery
2. Target Scanning
3. Vulnerability Assessment
4. Exploiting the Weakness
5. Privilege Escalation
6. Retaining Access
7. Covering Tracks
Technological defences are an essential part of any well-protected network and protects against amateur hackers targeting systems. The real danger is from professionals, who systematically get to know you, your organisation and exploit the weak points. This means your defences need to be multi-layered.
