Norwich Insurance Institute 2022 Annual Dinner

On Friday 11th November, the Insurance Institute of Norwich hosted its first Annual Dinner since the pandemic at Park Farm Hotel, Norwich. With over 80 guests in attendance, the night was a great success, full of fun, laughter, and networking, with representatives from key Norwich insurance related businesses.

The Dinner represents the IIN’s main annual fundraiser, and the night was dedicated to raising money for two worthy causes. Nelson’s Journey, a local charity supporting children and young people with bereavement and The Insurance Charities providing support for current and former insurance employees.

Our President, April Stowers hosted the Top Table with distinguished guests including Presidents of the Insurance Institutes of Bedford and Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Ipswich Suffolk & North Essex, and Cambridge, along with Gary Stevens, Funding and Marketing Manager of Nelson's Journey.

The night started with speeches from April Stowers (IIN President – current year), Bob Wane (Chair of the Norfolk PFS Society), Sharon Theobald (IIN Deputy President) and Alycia Thomson (IIN President – 2020 and 2021 years), with focus on highlighting the community spirit of the insurance profession within the Norwich & Norfolk region and maximizing engagement within the community and the local membership and employers.

The Marsh Norwich Cup is traditionally awarded at the IIN dinner for the most meritorious achievement of the Advanced Diploma in Insurance – and Marsh UK’s Chief Client Officer, Ailsa King awarded the cup to this year’s winners, Joseph Bryant, and Hannah Green

During the evening, guests were kept entertained with the brilliance of magician Ed Crafer and his close-up magic, sleight of hand plus a comedy magic and mind reading stage show. Guests participated in a game of ‘Higher or Lower’ with the winner kindly donating their winnings to the night’s charity fund.

DJ Steve Greensides provided entertainment until midnight.

The Insurance Institute of Norwich’s President, April Stowers and council members had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and were delighted to welcome faces, new and old. Our gratitude extends to the evening’s sponsors – Davies Group, Employment Specialists Ltd, PIB Insurance Brokers, Crawford and Company, Marsh Limited and Dawn Chrystal Holistic Mindset Coach.  Special thanks goes to Amaia Visiers (Dinner Secretary) and Sue Donmall (IIN Secretary) for their support in arranging the event.

The Insurance Institute of Norwich hopes all attendees thoroughly enjoyed the event, and are looking forward to the next annual dinner in 2023! Thank you to all those in attendance and who supported the event
