Personal Presence and Impact - 24 September 2019 9.30 - 12.30
Overview
Technical competence is clearly important in our role; however, this is only one part of being personally effective. In addition, you need to be able to communicate, connect and influence in order to have a positive impact on others. Impact starts from the moment that you meet someone or start talking on the telephone.
In only a few seconds, our approach can build bridges or barriers to the relationship and subsequently, the result that we are striving to achieve. Often the difficulty in this area is that people believe that it is ‘’Just the way they are’ and that they cannot change their personality’’. The key here is that you shouldn’t try to change your personality, rather adapt or change your behaviours.
During the session you will have the opportunity to consider some of the key areas and consider the impact that you have. This will be based on your own self-perception and the impression that you create with others.
The style of the session will be interactive involving both group and individual activities, to help you to consider your strengths and development areas. This will lead to a practical action plan which identifies the behavioural changes that you want to make.
