View event detailsMotivating Your Team 2020 - 31 January 2020 13.30-16.30
Motivating Your Team The importance of having motivated individuals and teams is obvious from the perspective of working environments and productivity. The question is how much time we proactively commit to motivational activities. There have always been discussions around who is responsible for the motivation of an individual ranging from totally the manager to totally the individual. Certainly, everyone has responsibilities but to what degree? It is true that Managers can influence motivation and for that matter also demotivation. This half day session gives you the opportunity to consider your role in motivating the team, covering key principles and getting you to focus on the individuals that you manage/coach/motivate. It starts by reviewing the principles of motivation and aspects that motivate us. It then considers our role as an influencer, before focussing on the specific individuals that you manage. The style of the session will be interactive and practical with the emphasis on you immediately using the skills back in your workplace

View event detailsCoaching Skills (Development & Career) - 24 September 2019 13.30 - 16.30
Coaching is one of the most difficult skills. Typically, we tend to make assumptions and try to solve problems for others. The reality is that it is all about our ability to facilitate a conversation in order to support and or develop others. The session will be particularly useful for managers, those with a specific coaching role and/or those who want to generally develop their coaching skills.
View event detailsPersonal Presence and Impact - 24 September 2019 9.30 - 12.30
Technical competence is clearly important in our role; however, this is only one part of being personally effective. In addition, you need to be able to communicate, connect and influence in order to have a positive impact on others. Impact starts from the moment that you meet someone or start talking on the telephone. In only a few seconds, our approach can build bridges or barriers to the relationship and subsequently, the result that we are striving to achieve. Often the difficulty in this area is that people believe that it is ‘’Just the way they are’ and that they cannot change their personality’’. The key here is that you shouldn’t try to change your personality, rather adapt or change your behaviours. During the session you will have the opportunity to consider some of the key areas and consider the impact that you have. This will be based on your own self-perception and the impression that you create with others.
