Lunchtime Lecture: The changing face of Insurance Distribution and the growth of Appointed Representative networks

Wednesday, 20 September 2017
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Nigel Law, Consultant, Gauntlet Group
    • Paul Coates, Director, Gauntlet Group

Overview:

Gauntlet Group is a Leeds-based commercial insurance broker and risk manager. Its businesses include Gauntlet Enterprise an Appointed Representative network and its own directly authorised broker network, Gauntlet Broker Partnership.

Learning points:

1. The presentation is geared to explaining how Appointed Representative Networks can work to enable those Insurance Brokers who may be considering taking on AR’s to understand the FCA hoops that they must go through and the processes that they would need to put in place.

2. It also seeks to explain that, despite the negative press surrounding Appointed Representative Networks last summer, the main networks are well governed and unaffected by the FCA criticism- this again can be an area of learning for the broker who may be considering getting involved.

3. Finally it helps to explain how an AR operates and fits in with the rest of the team within an insurance broker.
