How a construction risk is rated.

Common extensions of cover such as testing & commissioning; maintenance; transit.

Additional Covers offered or available such as owned & hired in plant; Employees Tools; DSU/ALOP; Public Liability; Existing structures.

Defective design

A brief introduction to other more complex covers such as multiple insured’s; overseas cover; contractors plant & plant hirers, speculative buildings / show houses.
This session will finish with a summary and questions.
Speaker Biography:
Ian Harris has been a construction underwriter for more than 25 years. He started working for Eagle Star and then General Accident in London and after 10 years he relocated to the Midlands and has been based in Birmingham since 1999. Since relocating to the Midlands he was first a Senior Underwriter and then Regional Underwriting Manager for CGU/Norwich Union. Since 2005 he has been responsible for the growth and development of UK regional EAR business and has also since 2008 has been the lead underwriter for the development of Chubb European Group (previously Ace European Group’s) Renewable Energy Account.
Ian is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurer. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Insurance & Risk Management from Cass Business School at City University. He is a past president of Birmingham Insurance Institute and until this April was Head of their Professional Development and Education committee. He has been awarded the Distinguished service medal by the CII.
Time: 12.30pm Buffet lunch; 1pm Lecture; 2pm Finish

Lectures are provided free of charge to CII/PFS members. A £15.00 charge is made for non-members attending the lecture payable at the time of booking (Please note: If payment is not made at the time of booking online, kindly advise in the special requirements box your method of payment, e.g. cheque to follow in post).
