Flood Consult International are a specialist flood risk consultancy working predominantly with utility and insurance companies and will be providing a topical lecture on the following:

The threat and implications of flooding remains one of the single most challenging areas for the UK insurance market to continue to deal with 365 days a year.

Flood Consults team provide a nationwide service offering experience and expertise in flood risk management, flood protection, flood risk assessments to property level protection surveys and Repair and Renew Grants. They work UK wide for the likes of Allianz, Hiscox, QBE, Marsh and have some very good case studies about practical help of flooding on a risk that needs to be underwritten/placed.

Delegates will come away from this CPD event having looked at the following:

Flood Mechanisms – Understand the different types of flooding including how they occur, characteristics and advanced warnings.

Flood Modelling – Understand the difference between widescale generic flood modelling and location specific detailed flood modelling including the advantages, disadvantages and limitations.

Site Specific Risk Assessment – Understand how the survey and assessment process is undertaken and why a site survey is mandatory to fully quantify the risk.

Flood Resistance and Resilience measures – Understand the difference between flood resistance and flood resilience measures and the different techniques to achieve protection against flooding.
