M92 Insurance Business and Finance Mixed Assessment Revision Day

Who should attend?
Anyone who is enrolled for mixed assessment in M92 or who is considering this option in the near future. The workshop will include topics which can be used in both the coursework elements of the subject and the multiple choice examination. The day will give those taking part the chance to ask questions and clarify any causes of concern.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to identify:
- the main functions of an insurer
- company accounts including balance sheets and income statements
- application of financial ratios
- claims reserving and the implications of Solvency Two
- impact of credit rating agencies
- strategic, tactical and operational planning
- use of control models e g budgets, KPI's etc
- other important areas of this wide ranging syllabus.
Nik Joshi is a MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT in FINANCE, MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS.
An ‘Economist’ by training he has extensive international experience in the Petrochemical Industry and now works extensively as a consultant in the Insurance and Financial Services industries. He has advised Regulatory Authorities, Insurance and Financial Services Companies, Local and Central Governments on Financial Management, Strategy, Governance and Compliance issues.
He is a consultant to the Asian Development Bank and he lectures widely on finance, strategy, management, governance and leadership issues in UK and Europe and has also worked extensively in Asia, The Middle East and Africa.
