What has the CII ever done for me and is it for me?

Having chosen Insurance as your profession, getting the most out of that has to be in everyone’s interests, whether that be around qualifications, increasing our knowledge and professionalism or broadening our network of insurance professionals and so supporting our personal development.

We are looking for new Council members to help shape what we do and produce to support our members – so why not you?

There is a wide range of activities and responsibilities that the Council carry out and there will almost certainly be something that fits your strengths and skillset.

We cover, amongst other things Sports and Social events, CPD Learning and Development Programmes, Education and Exams, Careers Fairs, Communication and Website interactions and we raise money for the Insurance charities. Pretty varied I think you will agree.

Depending upon your wishes, there are a number of key roles to help us organise and govern what we do, including President, Deputy President, Treasurer, Secretary, Dinner Secretary and Exams Secretary.

You would be supported in developing into these roles – we do not let people fall over!

So what is required? We have 4 Council meetings a year to attend and then to play a part in one of the sub committees having selected a suitable one for you to contribute to.

How do I get involved?

Apply to become a Council member and attend the AGM at AXA’s offices on 28^th March 2017.

Any Council member can let you have an Application form and we will be delighted to see you and welcome you aboard.

So be brave, and take this opportunity to develop your skills outside of your day job and to develop your network and leadership skills.

You will not regret it and what have you got to lose?!
