Past Presidents Luncheon
The luncheon was hosted at Worsley Sports Club in the beautiful conservatory area. Despite dropping temperatures outside the sun shone beautifully through the glass on the well decorated tables which created a wonderfully uplifting environment fitting for our celebration.
The event was well attended with only a few apologies form those who were simply unable to attend so after squeezing all the past Presidents together into one picture we were seated and lunch was served.
The food was delicious, timely and well presented and all of this only surpassed by the energy in the atmosphere as past and present council members exchanged stories, discussed the changing industry and naturally shared a few exploits, all aided by memorabilia including lots of old photos kindly bought in by those who attended.
After the speeches and the expressions of thanks each past President was presented with a simply beautiful gift of an engraved decanter from Julie, who in turn received her own as a surprise, albeit one scuppered by a somewhat eager Ian German, an amusing story which will hopefully be recalled at future events as fondly as the tales told that day.
All of our thanks goes to our President for making arranging this truly memorable event.
