Cyber-attacks have become one of the most significant risks facing the UK economy, costing billions of pounds each year. Generally the incidents that hit the headlines are those which have targeted house-hold names however most cases are never made public, if even reported as a crime in the first place.

Data breaches can be prevented with appropriate analysis, information and collaboration, and sharing information is the first step in understanding and preventing future breaches.

The DCCI in partnership with the Bournemouth University Cyber Security Unit has set up a forum to support you and your business to stay safe online. The objectives of this forum are:
To provide businesses with information on how to manage cyber risk and data protection
To create opportunities for businesses to learn from each other
To ensure that businesses can provide each other with practical support and resources in the actual event of a cyber-security incident
Promote economic strength through resilience

Your systems, information and processes are vital strategic business assets. Unfortunately, Cyber and IT security is often not seen as a strategic risk issue and its left almost exclusively to IT to manage, with the consequences being that cyber and IT risk do not attract sufficient senior management focus until it’s too late. Therefore, it is essential that Boards and senior management become far more aware of what is being done in the organisation to protect data and processes.

This forum provides the opportunity to discuss and share information on key Information and Cyber activities and emerging threats; as well as having the opportunity to speak to cyber security experts.
