Lunchtime CPD Networking - Oct 2018 - Fire Risk and Prevention
Event Overview:
In this session Jim Glocking will speak about the contributing factors to Grenfell, the issues arising from it, and how Grenfell should reintroduce resilience into the safety conversation.
Jim will discuss the Resilience of the built environment in the UK and how progressive changes to the regulations and legal framework have eroded once present features that supported Business and Property protection in favour of an exclusively life-safety focussed remit.
During the talk factors that contribute to a changing risk environment will be discussed together with understanding who has the authority to influence change and the tools available to the end user once the need for a resilience objective has been identified.
