Refreshments will be provided from 8.00am and the session will begin prompty at 8.30am.
Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry is pleased to extend a warm welcome to members of the Chamber, the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society as it invites them to attend a briefing from Bank of England Deputy Agent for Central Southern England Florence Hubert entitled 'Overview and Outlook for the UK economy'.
Florence will discuss the current economic conditions, the Monetary Policy Committee’s expectations for the likely future path for GDP growth and CPI inflation and the Committee’s decisions for Bank Rate and the stock of purchased assets financed by quantitative easing.
Florence became Deputy Agent for Central Southern England in March 2016. In her previous functions, she was an adviser contributing to the assessment of banking sector risks to UK financial stability, in support of the Financial Policy Committee. Florence joined the Bank of England in 2001 and has held a variety of positions across the Bank, including coordinating the international forecast in support of the Monetary Policy Committee. She was formerly a researcher at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.
Following the presentation, Florence will be delighted to take questions about the outlook for the UK economy and the Bank of England more widely.
