Further details available at: https://www.cii.co.uk/about-us/faqs/#!#online-mcq-exams-coronavirus-update
The cost of the day’s training will be £41 for PFS members and £51 for non-PFS members.
Your attendance will be confirmed once you have booked online.
There is a maximum of 12 attendees. If we are oversubscribed, you will be placed on a waiting list.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all face to face training organised by committee has been suspended until further notice by HM Government and the PFS and CII centrally.
The RO6 preparation day aims to increase your chances of passing the exam.
This intensive workshop will work through the case studies that will be examined in the July 2020 sitting.
The exam is based on two narrative case studies that will be issued approximately two weeks before the exam. Typically one is about a couple with young children and the other is concerned with a couple in their 60s who have either retired or are on the verge of doing so. You will also be given each couple’s financial objectives.
The exam tests your ability to give advice so will cover:
- what additional information you need to give advice
- what options are available that would enable the client to meet their objectives
- the advantages and disadvantages of the different options
- what you would recommend together with a justification
- an explanation of the product you have recommended
- what you would discuss at a future review
The workshop will work though the case studies as a group to identify the clients' objectives, the likely questions, how they should be answered and to revise the technical points arising from these questions.
Overall objective
To significantly improve delegates’ chances of passing the exam by developing an analysis of the pre-exam case studies.
This will be a one-day event.
By the end of the event delegates will able to:
- analyse and understand the information contained in the case studies
- identify the questions that could be asked in the exam
- identify the possible solutions to the identified objectives
- understand the technical points that are likely to be tested in the exam
- write answers to gain maximum marks
The course trainer is Dean Scott, who via his firm L&D Digital provide comprehensive financial services training support to the CII and some major financial institutions.
