Jelf Lampier clinch 5-a-side victory!

20 teams from across the insurance, financial services and legal professions gathered at Goals Soccer Centre in South Bristol on Tuesday 16th September for the Annual IIB 5-a-side Football Tournament. Players signed up for a chance to settle old rivalries and win the much coveted IIB trophy.

Last year's winners Oval Group got off to a strong start, progressing with ease through their group games and knockout rounds, advancing into the semi-finals, before losing 3-0 to Heat Recruitment. Meanwhile Jelf Lampier emerged as strong competitors, beating AXA Commercial in the semis and making it through to the final against top point scorers Heat. In a tight final, both teams exchanged goals before Jelf Lampier smashed smashed in a winner to beat Heat 3-2 in an absorbing game.

A representative from one team said; "It was a very well organised tournament which was fun and accessible to all ages and abilities." The IIB social events committee look forward to welcoming new and familiar competitors next year. We would also like to thank Goals South for hosting another memorable tournament and Neil Waters for organising the event.
