Effective Decision Making

NFU Mutual
Tuesday, 18 November 2014
9:00 am – 12:30 pm (UK time)

Presented by Adrian Towell, The Trafalgar People

We are all required to make decisions within our job roles. Some are simple and require no time or consultation. Others however, have implications, and therefore we need involvement, buy-in and commitment from a variety of stakeholders. During this workshop, delegates will have the opportunity to consider key aspects of their decision making, either to resolve an ongoing issue or to improve a current situation.

The session will be interactive, allowing members to put new skills in to practice in a friendly working environment. Prior to attending, delegates are asked to identify a situation within their role where a decision needs to be made and they are in a position to influence the outcome - they should be comfortable sharing this information with the group.

By attending the workshop, members will learn to:

  • Identify the key aspects of effective decision making
  • Work with a specific problem solving process
  • Base a decision on objective information
  • Identify the different decision making styles
  • Apply influencing and negotiation skills where appropriate
  • Identify areas and actions for personal improvement

How to book

The session is limited to just 12 delegates in order for it to be as interactive as possible. As a result, we anticipate that the workshop will be heavily oversubscribed, so members are encouraged to book their places as soon as possible. To secure your place, please email your name and CII/PFS pin number to ellie.rowland-callanan@cii.co.uk.
