Getting your house in order
Presented by Ed Foulkes, Partner, Clarke Willmott LLP
The Insurance Institute of Bristol is delighted to welcome members to its next CPD event, 'Getting your house in order, contractually speaking'. This practical and interactive seminar will cover the key practices that members should be aware of when analysing and negotiating their own contractual terms and conditions and any other contracts to which they are a party.
This seminar will cover particular provisions to watch out for in contractual arrangements. It will include potentially onerous and unacceptable terms and will help you to identify and minimise risks, as well as make your contracts enforceable. There will be ample opportunity to discuss specific issues and to ask questions. The session will also help to ensure that you are adequately protected by addressing important clauses in the contract.
Learning Objectives
By attending this event, members will have a greater knowledge of:
- How to avoid simple contractual pitfalls
- How to recognise potentially risky and contentious terms
- How to limit your liability - lawfully!
- Why your contract can't always say what you ideally want it to say
- What to do if the other party breaches the contract
