Insurance - a job or a career
Aimed at people who are very new to the industry, this session is designed to show how the important role you undertake is one link in the chain that joins us together in the profession of insurance and financial services that stretches worldwide.
The insurance market interlinked, each of you have a part to play in any transaction, and understanding you role and that of your company, your part in the insurance process will give you confidence in your own role and help to guide and develop your career.
This session is intended to give you a head start and show you what a career in this exciting profession might mean for you.
Learning Objectives
- To help you gain an understanding of how the market place operates, and an appreciation of the vital role your company plays as well as understanding how your role makes a difference
- Demystify the terminolgy that insurance professionals love, to help you feel part of the insurance world
- Introduce the importance of networking, why it is an investment in your future
- Show the relevance of the CII, what it means for you and your career
Cost
Even if you or your business are not current members please come along, we are proud of what our profession offers and would like you to share in our experience. Lunch is provided, as it is for all such Continual Professional Development lunchtime events hosted by the IIB and they are free to members, we are extending the invitation to all who may be eligible to become who work within the Bristol insurance sector.
Speaker
Karen Brown, Mediation-Commercial decisions by agreement, will host the event. Karen is ACII qualified and a chartered Insurance Broker. She has worked in London, South East and the local Bristol market for insurance companies, local, national and international Broking Houses. Karen now runs her own mediation and training business. A past president of the Insurance Institute of Bristol, Karen is a member of the Council and works closely with the Education Committee
