Forensic Flooding Investigations
In this lecture, Richard will outline the common considerations in forensic flooding investigations. He will cover flooding from a range of sources including sewers, surface water, groundwater and rivers.
He will discuss typical causes, using case studies to highlight:
- Causes / contributing factors that can give rise to a potential recovery;
- Interested parties whose actions (or inactions) may have contributed to the flooding.

About the Speaker
Richard Keightley is an Associate at Hawkins, providing forensic investigation and root cause analysis for the insurance, legal and risk management sectors. Richard is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and Chartered Environmentalist and has a background in flood risk engineering, hydrology and hydraulic modelling.
