Insurance Charities Awareness week
19-23rd June is Insurance Charities Awareness Week (#ICAW), to raise awareness of the work the Charity does to help insurance people across the UK and Ireland.
If you’re not aware The Insurance Charities is the only charity in the UK and Ireland solely supporting past and present employees in the insurance industry and their dependants who are experiencing financial hardship.
With the sharp rise in the cost-of-living things are becoming increasingly challenging and uncertain. Providing reassurance and support to those in the industry is now more important than ever.
The Charity can help with one-off payments to finance essential items such as equipment to help someone with reduced mobility, property repairs, household appliances, and furniture, day to day hardship, clothing including school uniform. It can also provide ongoing financial help (including charitable loans) where income is restricted or insufficient to meet higher than average costs that have arisen.
Some of the Charity’s beneficiaries have shared their story and explained why they got in touch. https://www.theinsurancecharities.org.uk/help-and-support/your-stories/
It also works with other organisations such as Aware in Ireland, Shelter UK, and Alzheimer’s Society to provide practical support where needed. Through these fantastic charities, it can help those experiencing mild depression, assist those with housing concerns, and those affected by dementia.
Applicants do not need to be a member of an insurance-related body or association, and both working and non-working people can apply.
