About the session:

The session will look at some key statistics about mental health and wellbeing in general and also in the workplace. It will explore how stress can affect us all and then focus on things we can all do to aid our own mental health and wellbeing, as we move forward in our day to day lives and our jobs. Information on mental health support will also be offered, including services and how to access them.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define what is meant by “mental health”
  • Identify facts about mental health
  • Recognise signs, symptoms and effects of stress on the brain
  • Discover helpful strategies for wellbeing and resilience
  • Review options for further support

About the speaker:

Nikki Ryall has worked for Cardiff Mind for over 3 years, supporting a varied group of clients to develop techniques to improve their mental health, utilising mostly CBT-based strategies. Nikki is a qualified trainer in Mental Health First Aid (adult and youth) and a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. She has wide experience of delivering training, being a former tutor/trainer in community education, Further Education and apprenticeships. She is a fan of mindfulness and also of spending time in nature and a lover of music and writing.
