PRESIDENT'S UPDATE...MONTH 1

The quiz was a great starting point and congratulations to Zofia Weaver for organising such a well attended and efficient event. Great numbers and new winners Oculus Wealth. An old trophy though and repairs underway….

Our Education programme is up and running with our New Generation Council leading a GI revision session and then 48 hours later a really well attended session from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service. Well done and thankyou to Zoe Davis and Mike Stangoe for organising.

Your Education programme is looking strong with 12 booked events already and plenty more ideas being spoken about. The website has all forthcoming events listed.

I sat in on a Sports and Social meeting who now have their plans and direction for the next 12 months and a varied programme will be available to you.

I attended Education Champion training with Zoe Davis and Jack Western for the revised CII Discover Risk presentation and the 3 of us look forward to presenting to schools and colleges in the Gloucestershire area throughout the next 12 months.

It was great to see your New Generation council getting some rightful exposure for their charity efforts in the April CII Journal

In June Zofia Weaver and I will attend CII National Conference 2019 in York. Great to see our Achiever of the Year Laura Eccles up for a national award and good luck to her

My charity efforts are up and literally running having completed 3 x 10k runs in May and then the 22 mile walk being Cheltenham 3 Peaks Challenge on 1st June. Thanks for all the donations and support. A meeting with the Cheltenham Animal Shelter is planned asap and more feedback to follow. More events in hand.... My link for the year is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/simonmcgill51

With charity in mind, we need to support Insurance Charities Week 20th-24th June. I am sure many of you are in your offices. We will have a specific collection at the CPD event on the 20th June. Pleased to say £275 already in the bank from the IGS Golf Day at Stinchcombe on 10th May.

Over and out for Month 1. Thankyou for the support. Please do join as many of our social media platforms as you can, ensure colleagues are registered for local literature via My CII and keep suggestions/feedback/ assistance requests coming.

Best wishes

Simon McGill
