Driverless Cars...What's it all about?
The Insurance Institute of Cheltenham and Gloucester are pleased to present a highly requested CPD lecture on Driverless Cars and the technology relating to this interesting topic.
We are delighted that it will be presented by one of the foremost experts in this field, David Williams of AXA Insurance.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the event delegates will:
- Have gained an understanding of some of the Government backed consortia and why AXA & other insurers are involved in these
- See how the UK Insurance industry is responding and the workings of the ABI ADIG
- Understand details of the governments work with regard to making Connected & Autonomous Vehicles (CAV's) a reality for the UK
- Be aware of Possible Timelines for the various stages of Driver assistance systems moving through to fully autonomous driving
- Have discussed possible impacts of CAV's on the current insurance market, including changes to Motor and Public/Products Liability
Speaker biography:
David is the Technical Director at AXA insurance – with Over 30 Years experience in General Insurance, roles including Chief Commercial Underwriter at one of AXA’s largest branches, Reinsurance Manager, Casualty Insurance Manager, Managing Director Claims, & Managing Director of Underwriting . He is also Chair of The CII Underwriting Faculty and heavily involved in the Government's 'Connected & Autonomous Vehicles' Pilots. Chair of RISC Authority & Board Member at the Fire Protection Association (FPA). A member of the AXA Group Commercial Board and has represented the UK on Asbestos, Health, Pollution and Fraud issues.
The event will be held at Gloucester Rugby Club on Tuesday 4th September with the talk starting at 1230pm and finishing at 1345pm.
Buffet and refreshments will be available from 12pm and the site has free parking and disabled access.
