Presentation 1:
Brooks Macdonald: "Retirement Income Planning - Risk management for adviser and client"
Investors’ confidence has taken a hit in recent times, with low interest rates, increasing living costs and volatile markets. What’s more, many people who were approaching retirement are now feeling pressurised to delay drawing down on their income. The FCA have then announced their Retirement Income review and sent out questionnaires to advisers, which give us an insight into their thinking.
In this session, Brooks Macdonald will explain how different strategies can meet the ever-changing regulatory backdrop and meet the retirement challenge head on.

Chris Hannett - Cyber Risk in Investments – Anatomy of an Attack
In this session we will cover what Cyber Risk actually is today, with a focus on how this applies to Securities and Investments specifically. We will take a look at some techniques used by modern Attackers which may surprise and also breakdown an example of a relevant Attack to provide some useful insight into what can happen when Cyber Risks are exploited. We will also touch on the explosive increase in the use of AI and Generative LLM in Cyber Crime in recent months.

Ken Clark | Agent for the North West - Bank of England
Ken will be providing us economic update, including covering recent developments in the UK economy, the Monetary Policy Committee’s most recent forecasts, and how their policy is responding to the various challenges we face.

Ken Clark | Agent for the North West - Bank of England
Ken Clark joined the Bank as Deputy Agent for the North West in April 2022. A former academic, he has published widely in the area of labour economics and held a number of leadership roles in higher education. Between 2015 and 2021 Ken served as the economist member of the School Teachers' Review Body which advises the Department for Education on teacher pay in English schools. He holds an undergraduate degree in Politics and Political Economy from the University of Glasgow and a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Manchester. Ken lives in the High Peak and enjoys running and listening to music in his spare time.
Chris Hannett | Director - Cymplify Ltd
Chris is a 13 Year veteran of the Cyber Security industry, working with Business Leaders to help them better understand their Cyber Risk, where and how they are exposed, and better secure their businesses against the increasing threat of Cyber attack.
David Mulholland
David joined Brooks Macdonald in 2017 and supports and develops intermediary relationships throughout the UK. He leads the distribution of the Personal Injury & Court of Protection Investment Service and is responsible for promoting the best routes to financial advice for vulnerable individuals. Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, David worked as an Investment Consultant, and at Aviva UK Life and Pensions as a Sales Consultant. He has over 25 years’ experience working in sales in the financial services industry.
