Behind the scenes - Gillmoss Recycling Centre
What happens to our waste?
IIL have arranged a Behind the Scenes visit to Gillmoss Recycling Centre to learn more about what can be recycled and what happens to our recycling and waste once it has been collected by the local Council.
Our visit will be delivered in the Recycling Discovery Centre and will include a walking tour of the Materials Recovery Facility where we will find out more about what can be recycled in our kerbside bins at home, what is contamination and what happens to the recycling (and waste) once it has been collected by out Councils.
The sat nav for the Centre is L10 5HA and it will often lead to United Utilities however, Gillmoss Recycling Centre is opposite in the large timber cladded building with the wavy roof. There is free parking on site and we have been asked to drive into the first turning on the right and park in a space.
Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre is operated by Veolia Merseyside & Halton on behalf of Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority
