General Insurance

There are currently two structured and progressive routes to study:

Study text with updates
This is a self study course for those wishing to study on their own with no support from a tutor. Depending on the unit chosen, you'll receive either electronic or paper updates that make sure you stay up to date with any changes to the technical knowledge you need.

Tutor assisted learning
If you feel you'd like a more structured route to study, tutor assisted learning could be the way to go. By submitting assignments to expert tutors you'll gain valuable feedback on your progress and be able to test your understanding of the course material in preparation for CII examinations. The courses are designed to be as user-friendly as possible and you'll also gain access to a written enquiry service to answer any questions or problems.

• Continuous assessment – available for Diploma and Advanced Diploma units. As well as giving you access to the tutor enquiry service and a series of assignments, on successful completion you will receive an increase of 10% of the total marks available.

Financial Services

Study text with updates
This is a self study course, available for Certificate and Diploma units, for those wishing to study on their own with no support from a tutor. For Advanced Diploma units, the self study option comprises of a case study workbook with updates. Depending on the unit chosen, you'll receive either electronic or paper updates that make sure you stay up to date with any changes to the technical knowledge you need.

Exam preparation course (EPC)
Available for all Diploma units, this distance learning course which includes the provision of a study text with updates, allows the completion of five exam preparation exercises. Your assigned expert tutor will mark these to exam standards, returning them with model answers and individual feedback on how you can improve your answers and exam technique.

You will also receive details on how candidates performed on specific questions and question types in past exams and practical guidance on effective exam preparation. Using EPC rather than simply self study options, such as ‘Study text with updates’, is proven to boost the chances of first time exam success by over 20%.
