Session overview and Learning Outcomes on the Taxation & Trusts section presented by Martin Green:
To demonstrate an understanding of:
- The current IHT landscape
- The Income tax and Capital gains tax regime for Trusts
- The trust planning solutions for differing clients
Session Overview on the Death Benefits section presented by Andy Nash:
In this session we will consider death benefits for DC arrangements along with potential IHT implications and the role appropriate trusts can still play. As we approach tax year end we will also recap on pension input allowances, how they interact and potential tax charges.
Learning Objectives
To demonstrate an understanding of:
- Death benefit rules for DC arrangements and potential IHT implications
- An overview of the various annual allowances
- How these allowances work alongside each other
- How to calculate any tax charge that may apply
Andy Nash
A Chartered Financial Planner since 2006, Andy has worked in the industry for over 35 years. He has held a variety of positions with major providers and has also worked in a regulated advisory capacity. Andy brings extensive experience in the Pension, Investment and Tax Planning arena to the team.
Martin Green
Martin is a member of the Business Development team where he works with the sales teams to promote Prudential's sales and investment proposition to intermediaries. Martin has worked for a number of major Financial Services providers over the last 30 years, including Aviva and AXA. He has a wide range of experience in both the offshore and onshore investment markets and has been working with IFA based sales teams for over 20 years, focussed on investment and tax planning solutions for IFA practices. Martin is a member of the Personal Finance Society.
