This session will ensure all attendees understand the difference between a CIP and a CRP and why they should be treated differently in all financial advice firms.

Learning objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to understand:

  • Understood the difference between a Centralised Investment Proposition (CIP) and Centralised Retirement Proposition (CRP).

  • Identified the factors that make a decumulation strategy flexible enough to meet our clients’ changing needs.

  • Recognised the risks associated with planning for income in retirement, which include rising inflation, sequencing, longevity, and investment risk.

  • Explored the strategies to mitigate these risks, such as diversification and asset allocation.

Andrew joined Brooks Macdonald in 2017 and is responsible for the management and development of our offices in Wales and the South West.

Prior to this, Andrew worked at Brewin Dolphin in Cardiff where, as a Divisional Director, he headed an investment team providing discretionary fund management solutions to financial advisers and their clients.

He has over 15 years’ experience in financial services.

Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI) and holds the CISI Private Client Investment Advice & Management Certificate, the CISI Diploma in Investment Compliance and The Chartered Insurance Institute Financial Planning Certificate.
