9:30 am – 10:30 am (UK time)
    • Callum Gallacher, Business Development Manager, Octopus Investments

Teams link to be sent the day before the session

Session Overview:

With an estimated £5.5tn set to pass between generations over the next three decades *, there has never been a greater need for advisors to consider intergenerational planning. Business relief can be an effective shelter from inheritance tax, but also a tool that can help advisors retain funds in their business when a client passes. Join us for this CPD session where we will explore –

  • The importance of estate planning in future proofing your business
  • What is business relief and why it exists
  • Clients who could benefit from business relief

Learning objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to understand

  • How to use trust planning without using the Nil Rate Band or incurring chargeable lifetime transfers (CLT).

  • Working with clients with a POA in place and ideas for working with the beneficiaries.

  • Help you to assist clients who have recently sold a business.

  • How you might make the most of ISA assets in estate planning.

  • Planning opportunities for a business that holds too much cash.
