Session Overview:

In this webinar we will focus on understanding the role protection can play through the accumulation, decumulation and estate planning phases of a client’s financial life.

Highlighting the potential impact of the Chancellor’s recent budget. With the focus for many clients currently on IHT planning, protection conversations are increasing and this session will look at the protection solutions and application considerations that come with advising in this space.

Learning objectives

Areas discussed during the session will include:

  • Review the recent changes announced in the 2024 Autumn budget, the impact of these and growth in protection interest.
  • Demonstrate how protection policies could be used in IHT planning, or to meet liabilities regarding gifts.
  • Highlight how protection application and underwriting processes fit alongside other areas of advice.

Joining the financial services industry in 1999 Dave has broad experience across the protection provider landscape working in various roles across product development, marketing, and sales.

As Market Development Manager at Legal and General his role is to promote and grow the protection market. Using L&G’s research with a focus on adviser training and development Dave works with advisers across the country on all areas of the protection journey, from entering new markets and sourcing new opportunities, sales skills and techniques to the technical aspects of HNW and Business Protection cases.
