Who said insurance has no talent?
This is the second year of this successful event, where over £3,000 was raised for our nominated charities The Emma Cameron Foundation and Quarriers Hope In a Box.
Acts included our IASG president Kieran Gallagher, who won last year, as the very talented George Michael and our immediate Past President Malcolm McCutcheon, gave us a brilliant rendition of Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. Other performers included Michael Bolton with a brief appearance from his handsome son who stole the show as Michael Bolton. The President of the Edinburgh Insurance and Actuarial Society’s Michael Hashim won us over with his version of Kenny Rogers’ Lucille and The Beautiful Ladies of Insurance Group (Gillian Fitzpatrick, Gillian Rennie, Julie Hutchison, Sharon Learmonth and Ashley Clancy) danced the night away entertaining us with a fantastic version of Wannabee by the Spice Girls. The coveted trophy and this year’s winner Beverly Atkinson not only looked like but sounded even better than the real Susan Boyle belted out I Dreamed a Dream.
The dynamic DJ on the right, Allan Cooper from Baldy Entertainment, had everyone dancing until midnight. Alan’s day job is underwriting with AXA, but his performance as Right Said Fred had everyone on their feet.
The judges, Alan Cameron from the Emma Cameron Foundation, Trish Cunningham from Quarriers and Nicky Martin from GS Group didn’t hold any punches when reviewing the acts…… but all in the name of charity.
Thank you to the insurance brokers, insurers, solicitors, adjusters and suppliers who came along and their kind generosity.
Until next year, keep practising, you could be our next winner.
