WEBINAR: Meeting the needs of vulnerable clients
The combined Scottish CII Local Institutes are happy to invite you to our latest seminar “Meeting the needs of vulnerable clients”.
This session covers a range of areas and regulation around consumer vulnerability:
Most consumer protection is aimed at what you might call an “average” or typical client – what they expect, what they understand and how they behave. But customers who find themselves in vulnerable circumstances are less likely to be able to represent their interests, and more likely to suffer harm.
The FCA has been paying close attention to this topic for some time. In this session, as well as providing an update on the regulator’s activity so far, we’ll be exploring the issues and considerations for firms and advisers.
What have been identified as the risks? How can advisers ensure that they have taken the appropriate steps to consider the issues raised?
Join us for a 60-minute webinar with David Wilson, Business Development Manager at Just Group who will be casting a spotlight on the subject of vulnerability and highlighting various areas to be aware when identifying and responding to potential vulnerabilities.
By attending this session, planners will be able to:
- Outline FCA research and publications about vulnerable consumers
- Consider the issues that arise when consumers find themselves in vulnerable circumstances
- Identify what changes to policy and process might need to be made when working with vulnerable consumers
