Preparing for and passing CII Diploma in General Insurance Business (non-life)
>> CII Diploma
In this workshop, we’ll move to gaining the CII’s Diploma (and then ACII) through study of M05 insurance law, M85 claims practice and M93 commercial property and business interruption. Again, we’ll focus on learning and recall of wide-ranging technical material, including the strong use of case law.
We’ll aim to talk through some technical topics that recur in many CII exams, such as common law, statute law, the Consumer Insurances (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012, the Insurance Act 2015, Utmost Good Faith, Indemnity, Insurable Interest, Subrogation and Contribution, Proximate Cause and some elements of Regulation.
Delegates can raise any syllabus subject they wish.
Throughout the day, we’ll be working on some sample exam papers together and will polish our abilities to identify exactly what is being asked in order to answer multiple-choice questions under pressure and compose strong written assignments in hours not weeks. The tutor cannot advise on matters directly arising from any student’s own assignments.
>> Learning Objective
After attending either or both courses, delegates will be confidently armed to study for and pass CII exams and so improve their careers and abilities to assist clients and work profitably for their firms.
>> More about our speaker
Our Tutor for the day is Rod Smith FCII FCILA, who has coached CII exam subjects across the UK and abroad for many years, based on his practical experience of handling property and casualty losses for both insurers and brokers.
