The Brighter Team Won!

The 2016 Halifax Insurance Institute Annual Quiz Night saw new champions crowned.

The team representing Brighter Financial Services lulled everyone into a false sense of security by selecting the team name "Brighter by Name, Not by Nature" and scoring the fewest points in the first round.

Judge Fudge & the Arbiters (aka Covea) looked likely to retain their quiz title with an impressive score of 17 in the first round, closely followed by The Marshians from Jelf Beaumonts with 16 points.

Then everything changed. By the time we had a break for food, The Marshians were in the lead but Brighter had jumped up into joint second place alongside Judge Fudge. The Marshians held onto their lead until the final round when Brighter scored 23 out of 25 to win by half a point.

Eight teams took part in a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets, we raised £91.50 for the Insurance Charities.
