AGM appoints Suzanne Mitchell as first Halifax and Bradford president
AGM appoints Suzanne Mitchell as first Halifax and Bradford president, Suzanne stated:
"First of all I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Insurance Institute of Halifax and Bradford website. The Insurance Institute of Halifax and Bradford has recently been formed following the merger of The Insurance Institute of Halifax and the Insurance Institute of Bradford.
Our council would also like to take this opportunity to personally say a huge thank you to council members, past and present, for their significant contribution to the running of the Insurance Institute of Halifax and the Insurance Institute of Bradford.
I am delighted and privileged to be the first president of the newly formed institute.
Given the issues caused by not being able to hold many face to face events I am mindful that a lot of our members are not as connected as other institutes and it’s my mission to try change that by introducing more face to face CPD and some social events in the next 12 months. We are here to support our members and your input is welcomed so please contact me directly if there is anything specific you would like your institute to offer.
My focus this year will be encouraging young people to consider insurance as a career choice. It’s great to see insurers and brokers offer more Apprenticeships and Training opportunities. This is a message I want to get out there to local 6th forms and colleges, that our industry is great and should be considered!
My chosen charity this year will be Forget Me Not Children's Hospice who offer high quality, bespoke, specialist services for mums and dads to be, babies, children, and their families, coping with life-limiting conditions and those living with loss.
I’m really looking forward to representing our members and you have my promise that I will work hard to build a solid foundation for the newly formed Institute of Halifax and Bradford".
