Yoga and Meditation Session (1)

Friday, 30 April 2021
12:30 pm – 1:15 pm (UK time)

About The Session

Yoga is an ancient discipline that improves physical and mental wellbeing. A practice of exercise, breath control, relaxation, positive thinking and meditation aims to develop harmony in the body, mind and environment.

This session is offered by the Bradford Insurance Institute for its members as a lunchtime refreshment at the end of a busy week.

The Theme: Finding balance in our lives. Often our lives can be out of balance; too much of one and not enough of the other. This practice will encourage us to be curious about our own lives in order to take better care of ourselves and those around us.

“Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open you would be paralysed. Your deepest presence is in every small contract and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and co-ordinated as birds wings” Rumi.

The Asanas (poses): We will be opening and closing the body, finding space in the left and the right sides and having fun with some balancing poses. We will end the session with a short relaxation (savasana).

If you have a yoga mat please feel free to use this otherwise a carpeted area or an area with a rug will be fine.

Please ensure you have enough room free from hazards.

This session is suitable for all levels of fitness.
