Who should attend? Anyone who works in general insurance claims departments and others who need a basic understanding of building construction.

Understanding basic building construction techniques and specifications which will provide assistance to claims handlers when dealing with insurance claims for damage sustained by dwellings and small business premises.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to discuss:
• how houses and small commercial premises are constructed
• how buildings can be damaged by insured perils
• mitigation of the damage and the methods of repair.
• different forms of construction of basic structures suitable methods for repair following damage.

Speaker Biography
Ian joined the loss adjusting industry in 1986 and has dealt with portfolios of domestic and commercial claims throughout the UK. In the last 10 years Ian has been involved with a number of high value claims for commercial public and private sector policyholders.
