The Insurance Act 2015: Impact for brokers

Thursday, 03 December 2015
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm (UK time)

Industry Experts: Neil Howes, Partner & Liam Burnett, Principal Associate, Mills & Reeve LLP
Time: Refreshments at 12.00pm for 12.30pm start (1.30pm finish)

This seminar will review the Insurance Act 2015 and consider how it will impact on the risk exposure of insurance brokers. Representing the first major legislative change to non-consumer insurance contracts in over 100 years the proposed Act is generally good news for insurance brokers. But it is not without its pitfalls. This session will contrast the position of the current law against that which is to become the law.

Who Should Attend
Anyone in, or connected to, the insurance market who wants to understand how they will be affected by the changes that the Insurance Act will make to the current law.

Learning objectives
At the end of this event, the delegate will be able to identify:
• how the proposed legislation might affect the profile of claims against brokers
• the key risk areas of which every broker needs to be aware
• practical tips to help avoid or reduce potential claims when the Act comes into force.
