  • What the MIB is, why it exists and the areas of work it is involved in;
  • How the MIB and other stakeholders are tackling the problem of uninsured driving;
  • How the MIB assists victims of accidents with uninsured and 'hit and run' drivers;
  • What the role of the MIB is in relation to cross border claims and some of the challenges in that area;
  • How a recent European Court case is threatening the UK system of compulsory insurance and its enforceability;
  • How the MIB is looking to understand more about why drivers leave the scene of an accident

Speaker Biography

As Head of Technical, in addition to being part of the MIB Executive Management Team, Paul is responsible for technical issues throughout the MIB claims area, and also has responsibility for strategic decisions on many of the highest value cases.

Paul is Chairman of the MIB Technical Committee and the Employers' Liability Tracing Office Dispute Resolution Panel. He also has responsibility to represent MIB UK at the Council of Bureau in Brussels dealing with the operation of the Green Card system and other cross border claims issues.

Paul is ACII qualified, a Chartered Insurer and has over 30 years of technical claims experience working previously in the general insurance industry, formerly employed by Eagle Star and Budget Insurance.
