Learning Objectives
By the end of this event delegates will have gained an insight into:
- GDPR proposals (wider applicability than current Data Protection Act 1998, enhanced obligations, increased individual rights and a massive 4% global turnover maximum penalty for breaches)
- Increased cost and complexity of compliance
- The need for clear consents and only processing in line with contractual requirements and nothing more
- Obligations to ensure third parties comply and mandatory reporting breach obligations
The briefing will focus on the General Insurance and Financial Services sectors with discussion around marketing consents, use of data for underwriting purposes and to tackle fraud and to deal with insureds who have had a track record and may ask for erasure!
