CPD Presentation: Rehabilitation of Offenders and Conviction Disclosure
In November of last year, we held a Regulatory Round-Up presentation and a number of members were surprised to learn of developments in legislation for dealing with spent convictions. As a result we have asked Sarah Pether, Associate in Litigation and Dispute Resolution with Andrew Jackson Solicitors, to assist us in understanding how the law stands and what the implications are for brokers, including consequences of disclosure.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this event delegates will be able to identify:
- Rules on declaring convictions
- Potential breaches of the Act
- Amended time limits for spent convictions
- Multiple convictions
- Calculating the time periods
- Exceptions for motoring offences
- Authorisation for professionals
The aim is to give those attending a greater understanding of the issue and reduce risks of legal problems occurring. It will be suitable for anyone advising clients on motor insurance issues. Attendance at this presentation qualifies for 1 hour of CPD.
