December President's Message

Dear Members – a short pre-Christmas note.

The older I get the faster the years go past! As we approach Christmas and the year end, I can’t help but look back on what has been an “interesting” year. Change seems ever faster – whether its work change, climate change or political change – and 2018 has brought some very real challenges and opportunities.

For me in my role as our CII President it seems surreal that I am 8 months in and already planning for the AGM and hand over to Sarah Deacon next April. I am thoroughly enjoying the role; it is a pleasure to work with a fantastic Council and to meet so many great people at our local events.

I want to wish you all a very happy Christmas and New Year. I hope that you can find time to be with family and friends and get some “down time” to re-charge the batteries. I appreciate all the excellent support for me, for our CII and for Suffolk Mind as my chosen charity this year.

Early 2019 Events and Dates:
Tuesday 22nd January 2019 - “Vulnerable Customers” lunch time event - learn about how to identify and deal with vulnerable customers. 12.30pm to 2.00pm at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, Mile End, Colchester, CO4 5UP

Wednesday 6th February 2019 – All Day CII Conference – focused on change, modernisation and emerging risks, with a range of speakers including Inga Beale – 9.30am to 4.30pm (registration from 8.45am) at Wherstead Park, Ipswich, IP92BJ

Friday 5th April 2019 – Ipswich, Suffolk and North Essex CII Annual Dinner - 3 course dinner, a live band, photographer and photo booth plus awards and a raffle/auction. Starting at 6.30pm with carriages at 1.00am, at the Hanger, Milsoms Kesgrave Hall, IP5 2PU

Monday 29th April 2019 - Ipswich, Suffolk and North Essex CII AGM – appointing / confirming Council membership and roles and responsibilities for the next Presidential year. Starting at 6.00pm at the Ipswich and Suffolk Club Archdeacon House, Northgate St, Ipswich IP1 3BX
