Young Professionals

Welcome to the Young Members' Committee of the IIL. Our committee is made up of representatives under the age of 35 from different segments of the London market, including insurers, reinsurers, brokers, Lloyd's, the LMA and the legal profession. We're here to promote learning and networking opportunities and our aim is to assist young members with their career development, through providing innovative events on a variety of subjects.

We've organised many educational events, including a 'Meet the A-Team' session with senior market professionals, an event on cognitive bias in underwriting and an M&A focused ‘Does Size Matter?’ seminar. We also run a ‘So you want to be a CEO?’ series which always proves to be extremely popular! We've got some great ideas up our sleeve for the future so stay tuned and check here regularly for updates. Of course, the YMC would not be what it is today without a good dose of fun! We are renowned within the Market for our annual Winter Ball, which attracted over 930 guests in 2019.
