The purpose of this webinar is to provide a high level overview of Takaful Law, the Islamic Insurance system based on pool contributions by mutual insureds managed by an insurer. This webinar is intended to remove any existing preconceived notions and compare Takaful to conventional cover.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, attendees will:

  • Gain some knowledge of Takaful financial principles and methods
  • Learn the principles of Takaful insurances
  • Have a broad understanding of how to set up Takaful policies
  • Have an understanding of the differences between Takaful insurances and conventional policies
  • Understand how clients can benefit from Takaful policies.

Speaker Profile: Rizwan Alikhan

Born in London, educated at KCS, Wimbledon, receiving a Batchelor of Science degree from University of Pittsburgh, US in 1986. He returned to London to embark on a career as a Lloyds Broker, in 1988 specialising in Global reinsurance risks. He moved into a career in finance beginning in1990 in Canada ,moving onto the US and finally in Australia. He worked predominantly as a financial and corporate advisor. He has been in the investment industry for 25 years in North America, Europe and Australasia. He has held senior executive roles and board positions in several publicly listed companies in Canada and America. He has 20+ years’ experience in M&A and corporate restructure, throughout the regions of Europe, North America and Eastern Europe, specialising in the Finance , Energy, High Tech and Industrial sectors. He took over the team at AAIB in 2015 to expand on the company’s reach and foster growth and founded Safecrest Ltd (Takaful) in 2017.
