Peter Gallagher appointed as local Insurance Institute President
Commenting on his election by members of the local institute at its AGM last month, Peter said: “I am both honoured and delighted to be appointed as President for the year 2016/17 and look forward to working with our members and the other local professional organisations to maintain the excellent standard of CPD provision for insurance & financial services professionals on the island.”
“This year also sees the institute celebrate 30 years on the island and we will be looking to mark the occasion later in the year”.
Peter, who is Managing Director of local insurance company Tower Insurance, is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Before coming to the island in 2009, he had a wide and varied career which has covered all aspects of general insurance and has taken him from Ireland to the Caribbean, the Middle East, South East Asia & the Channel Islands.
The AGM also welcomed the new Council for 2016/17 with the following officer appointments:
Deputy President & Education Secretary– Matthew Hills
Secretary – Christine Crowther
Treasurer – Paul Ellison
Membership Secretary – Karen Shimmin
Vice Presidents – Bryan O’Connor, Oriana Hills & John Hockney
