Sandra Cardwell appointed as local Insurance Institute President
The Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man is delighted to announce that Sandra Cardwell of Edgewater Associates Limited has been appointed as its new President for the year 2018/19.
Commenting on her election by members of the local institute at its AGM last week, Sandra said: “I am both honoured and delighted to be appointed as President. I am looking forward to working with our members as well as the other local professional organisations to maintain the excellent standard of CPD events for insurance & financial services professionals on the island.”
Sandra joined Edgewater 2008 & was appointed Managing Director in 2014.
She has over 20 years’ experience of advising personal, corporate and international clients on their financial planning and banking needs, working in a number of senior roles with Lloyds Bank on the island. Sandra holds the CII Diploma in Financial Services (Dip PFS) and the Institute of Directors Certificate in Company Direction (Cert MIoD).
The AGM also saw the outgoing President, Matthew Hills returning to the post of Deputy President along with the following Council officers:
Secretary – John Walker
Treasurer – Stephanie Coston-Holland
Education Secretary– Bryan O’Connor
Membership Secretary – Karen Shimmin
Vice Presidents – Peter Gallagher, Paul Ellison & Christine Crowther (both Hon Life Vice President).
There are also some new faces on Council this year with Mark Kemp, Samantha Hall & Denver Brown joining for the first time.
The Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man is the local branch of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) & also includes members of the Personal Finance Society (PFS). The institute acts as the educational representative body for all insurance and financial services professionals on the island.
