John Walker elected Institute President

The Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man is delighted to announce that John Walker of Edgewater Associates Limited has been appointed as its President for the year 2022/23.

Commenting on his election by members of the local institute at its AGM on 21st April, John said: “I am delighted to have been elected President of our Local Institute. I look forward to working with the rest of the Council to develop CPD and networking events for our members. To facilitate the on-going professional development of members and expand the level of skill and expertise available across all sectors of the insurance industry in the Isle of Man.”

John joined Edgewater in 2013 and is the Head of Corporate Solutions.

He started his professional career in politics before moving into financial services around ten years ago and specialises in retirement planning, corporate investment & protection advice and employee benefits.

John is the current Chair of the Isle of Man Personal Finance Society Regional Committee and holds the CII Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS) and the CII Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management (CertPFS (DM)).

The AGM also saw former Membership Secretary Denver Brown take on the post of Deputy President along with the following Council officers:

Treasurer – Stephanie Coston-Holland

Education Secretary – Denver Brown

Secretary – Kellie Hands

Vice Presidents – Gillian Marples, Sandra Cardwell & John Hockney

The Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man is the local branch of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) & also includes members of the Personal Finance Society (PFS).
